To fulfill a power fantasy I made my BG character overpowered, which was an enjoyable pursuit involving learning hexadecimal code and experimenting with savegame editing But actually playing after was utterly unfulfilling and that devastation affected the trajectory of my life

The beauty of it was that the generator wouldn't return stats lower than that required for whatever class you were rolling, and paladins had the highest and broadest stat requirements in 2e, so you easily avoided most bad roll sets from the distribution
