no seriously it's wonderful among its assets:https://twitter.com/liminal_warmth/status/1233870670305488896?s=19 …
1. Ghaleon. Motherfucking Ghaleon. Best villain! His motivations are developed and /reasonable/ and executed against flawlessly. And in pursuit of a goal that is noble from his view he does incredibly wicked things that make you WANT to kill him. (But you're still sad about it)pic.twitter.com/LOTG3S3onk
Sure, he's a condescending prick who uses your friends' souls to power an unstoppable mechanical fortress aiming to destroy all that is good in the world, but he also built a quiet garden full of fairies into its heart because he wanted friends who loved flowers like he did.
2. The game is Hard. Usually RPGs have trivial boss fights that require no forethought and you just kind of blunder through to the next cutscene Here, no Here you Earn story and must be really economical even before the boss fights to avoid getting worn down
3. The game is philosophically rich! The entire story of the world is a spooled out consideration of the possibility of humans existing without a divine Leviathan when evil still lurks in their hearts
5. As far as I can tell the game was adapted for English audiences by Working Designs, a company that chiefly produced software for industrial applications but whose (owner?) was a giant weeb who pursued an American release as a passion project I love that nerd whoever he is
