This is a problem. We thought the internet was a public forum, but it's not. It's a series of gated communities with subjective rules and if you aren't one of the rule-makers, you're shit out of luck.https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2020/02/first-amendment-doesnt-apply-on-youtube-judges-reject-prageru-lawsuit/ …

Yep, this is why the right is fucked. Google blocks off Prager U and bans them from making money but then partners with The Young Turks and we all shrug our shoulder and say "oh well, nothing we can do b/c capitalism is too awesome to be fair."

PragerU spent an enormous amount of time and money building their brand on YouTube with the expectation of certain behaviors from Google. Google fucked them, destroying everything they worked to build. And y'all think that's *great*, exactly how it should be. I got nothing.

The funniest thing about this thread is that I found that article b/c some of my left-wing tech friends posted it, mocking PragerU and basically saying "Hahahah, we OWN online communication and we will totally fuck over anyone who disagrees with us" Yes, they will. They are.
