if you play a PSX game on a PS1 vs a PS2, is there any reason you might expect the graphics to be degraded? fixed my earlier problem wrt save games (yesss more lunar incoming) but slightly bummed about the video quality on the tiny new console

Yeah then no it shouldn't look worse because that one actually has the ps1 hardware on it. Whereas the ps2 slim does not have the ps1 chip and therefore uses some sort of emulation. Could you describe the issues with the video quality

graphics look kind of fuzzier on the PS1 (the tiny newer version) compared to the PS2 maybe like they have compression artifacting

no those are the fucking things that don't actually take discs right? should just be the PS1 (but not original model PSX which IIRC was somewhat larger)
