The figures are almost certainly an underestimate but what’s the magnitude of the error ? A lot of people in that thread seem to assume, without evidence, that it is hundreds or thousands of times worse but the evidence for that is just nonsense stuff they’ve seen online.

1. They are reporting confirmed cases instead of estimated
2. Number of confirmed is function of available medical resources and not of incidence
3. Incidence among evacuees was 1.5-2% —> ca 150k cases in Wuhan *last* week
4. Observable crisis level
