I jumped on this private insurance that everyone seems so excited about and it's shit compared the the Medicaid I was on prior to getting a real job.

Well before I was signed up for Apple Healthcare, which apparently I still qualify for, I paid $0 out of pocket to go see the doctor and get a prescription. Now I pay $250 per doctor's visit until I reach my deductible which I'll never hit because it's so high.

Apple Healthcare covered all my doctors visits, emergency room visits (even out of state, I went to the emergency room in FL), flu shots and prescriptions without any out of pocket expense.

That's pretty amazing, certainly better than what I have. But I meant your current private insurance... it's really $250 a visit for preventative care?

That's nuts. My insurance is just so-so (we've been downgraded since we joined the mouse) and our doctor visits are something like $20 co-pay
