seriously I read Gigerenzer's edited collection _Bounded Rationality_ for fun when I was working in an animal behavior lab Since then I have watched the memeplex metasticize into behavioral Economics the most cursed discipline
thesis: "what if people were rational all the time" antithesis: "what if people are irrational in predictable ways in laboratory conditions" synthesis: "what if behavioral economists spin up bullshit with no external validity to optimize their careers and politic's"
we should have never colonized psychology as in the rue morgue we brought back a fucking Orangutan
nevermind gigerenzer is Uncancelledhttps://twitter.com/literalbanana/status/1222379198867591168?s=19 …
The OP feels like a con to me, they’re counting two different things! In strings of infinite length HHHT is a more common substring than HHHH. In infinite collections of length 4 strings they’re equally rare. There’s no finite/infinite dichotomy I’m seeing here?
Ok nvm I read more of the thread and they’re the same in the infinite substrings version for boom/bust reasons. Fine that’s kinda cool.
