5. Can one still buy Polar Pure (little eyedropper vials with iodine crystals that slowly diffuse into water you fill em with, then you put that water into prepotable water) anywhere?

Not sure about storing food not prepacked for it. But there are good kits one can be if you're willing to spend a little money. Also cliff bars are good to have on hand.

Personally, I like easy and cheap. So I just ordered a ton of canned refried beans, because it's basically always been a staple in my diet, so I'll eat through it eventually, but also this is like a couple weeks of food if need be. Zero prep; zero additional work; etc.

You can dehydrate fruits like banana chips and apple slices and they keep well. Nuts are good for that as well. For 2, depends on the container 3. It keeps relatively well, keep it in a consistently dry place, 4: yes, keep it climate controlled. 5: idk but tablets are g2g
