My wife and I never baby talk to our kids. We use full sentences and a wide vocabulary including complex words. My son is 3 and can carry a full conversation. Adults at family gatherings are shocked at his social aptitude. My daughter isn’t even 2 and she uses 4-syllable words.

yeah I don't baby-talk to kids which isn't to say I never use absurd gibberish :D but nothing that obfuscates the intelligibility of regular vocab my mom also never babytalked me

honestly it's more fun to use gibberish with toddlers after they know what "correct" speech sounds like bc then they think it's hilarious and they get to correct you
