No it wasn't, even on first contact western hemisphere natives had technology and nature that Europeans couldn't fathom, and vice versa. It went both ways.

Natives didn't adopt much from Europe in terms of social structure. Europeans adopted constitutional democracy, farming beyond sustenance farming, seafaring techniques
