you would think! but in fact most of your ancestors are female relatively few men, historically, reproduced; but when they reproduced they reproduced a LOT these men will show up many times in your family tree eg: https://psmag.com/environment/17-to-1-reproductive-success …

oh plausibly I never read what I link that said whenever more women reproduce than men do (pretty generally given historical rates of male mortality, polygyny, etc?) you'd expect much more duplication of men than women in family trees
