Yes, agreed! I've always thought it's a shame that in this conflict it is the 'opressors' that benefit from chaos and guerilla tactics. I think the status quo might have more value to HK than the PRC

the protest is less likely to succeed because China definitely don’t want to lose face over this. I see it as a “test case” for their expansionist agenda; their traditional claims against Taiwan etc

the violence has been going in waves, the more violent the protests the easier it is to justify cracking down on them we have seen an evolution of tactics from both sides, and we should all be paying attention to the lessons learned
