5. hunch is that the current spate of Activism is driven by trends in urban cost of living and job distribution, elite overproduction (they can't all fill elite roles not even close), and economic restructuring; and dissolution of old adult roles the ISSUES are secondary at best

It helps that young people tend to not have as much to lose and many of them (esp males) have poor impulse control, but, yes, having a critical mass of socially displaced people is an important prerequisite for a revolution
