Morrowind. Needing to follow directions without a minimap based on in game landmarks gave it such a sense of transporting you into a different world—plus first game I played with truly unparalleled freedom

7. Stardew Valley. I’ve always loved games where I get to organize, build, farm, and role play, and this game just has so much adorable charm and fun things to do. I think it’s a substantial step forward from the Harvest Moon franchise.

8. Ark. I can’t remember if this was the first collect resources/ build/ survive game I played but it’s the one that really sticks out as introducing me to the genre and this is another genre I LOVE even though I’m really bad at it and mostly just make wood houses and tame dinos

11. World of Warcraft. More time /played than any other game for me. Also how I kept in touch with friends and family through college. Tanking and healing give the same mental buzz as playing team sports for me.

13. Slay the Spire. Clear roots in Dominion and Ascension but it basically defined a new genre of games which always blows my mind when someone can do that. Love the strategy and different tactics.
