happened at my very first job/internship, where mgmt thought it was a good proxy for conscientiousness I can imagine that salaried wc jobs might exist where that's Super Important, but it sure does sound like "we've decided to fire this person and need an excuse"

let me qualify that: if everyone's entry/exit time is being tracked, or if it started when the job started, maybe it's one of those weird jobs (or, more likely, the boss is crusty and old) if it's just started, and just you, update your linkedin
