this feels pretty abstract to me still. what are some ways of interacting that you don't know how to do, and do you have any insight into why you can't manage them?

Well a part of what feels like the problem is I don't really know what I don't know how to do. What I can do is opine about Issues and Subject Matter like philosophy and various media, argue, explain/lecture about my Ideas and my math research.

That's fine! And actually--maybe a better (stupid but good) example are sitcoms. When you watch the Simpsons, do the conversations make sense to you? Like, why people would have them, or why they're funny

I find them funny, and at least have a shallow sense of "why". I feel like there is a certain level of making sense that I probably don't get? (...)

Like I don't imagine what it's like to be them and don't really have any sense of what it would be like for it to be necessary to say what they are saying at that moment most of the time

And idk if it's relevant but I find that famous Skinner cooking for Chalmers scene profoundly uncomfortable and I don't think I've watched the whole thing through
