I doubt K-12 is going anywhere anytime soon due to aligned & intrenched interests, but a legacy institution like that is more or less irrelevant to me until something unexpected happens like one of my kids really wants to be there despite (to spite?!) us

parents with different skillsets teaching relevant classes, incorporating online classes, hybrid art/music arrangement with public schools. Lot of options.

people have been thinking along these lines for a long time. internet reduces some of the transaction costs, as usual. it's good! but most parents really want huge solid blocks of their kids' time filled reliably, and bristle at every random school day off
