Wool sweaters: -expensive -uncomfortable -difficult to care for -often unflattering What am I missing?

it’s completely valid to not like the feeling of wool on your skin - you might still like wool blends which manage to be wholly alchemically different, especially blended with silk, linen, and/or cotton

also a lot of modern garments are made of “superwash” merino - can machine wash & dry, very soft (ime the softest merino is exclusively sold in australia/NZ - macpac is a great brand)

for me the point of it is texture, moisture management, beauty, and general good feelings, but there’s 0 reason to force yourself to wear it if you hate it imo

Don't you wear it with a shirt underneath? I think except for scarves and socks the idea's for wool to mostly not touch your skin

the wool sweaters I knit myself out of merino and my wool base layers I wear next to my skin, not everyone likes this though which is why base layers are made of a lot of things
