Another #SobSquad critique/question:
"What you focus on expands."
Is the idea to get free of upset/trauma, or to have a lifestyle that involves a lot of upset and continual focus on trauma?

I recommend reading 'Letting Go' by David Hawkins; it's a beautiful articulation of the rationale of

Is "stuck emotions" literal or metaphorical?
@QiaochuYuan@Malcolm_Ocean Does it just mean "if you think a certain ('stuck'/looping) way, you'll develop ideas (and feelings) around that, which can get you tangled up in more closed-loop thinking (which can make more feelings)"?2 replies 0 retweets 2 likes -

Not sure what the difference between literal & metaphorical is in this context... Can you describe what would be implied by it being one or the other? While we're talking metaphors...https://twitter.com/QiaochuYuan/status/1198749884200808448 …

Are there entities called "emotions" in the body that get physically stuck somewhere? If not, what's happening? What does "stuck" actually mean?

stuck means, roughly, that you both have an emotion or feeling and a resistance to it; it naturally wants to move in some way (e.g. crying, screaming, some update) and the resistance is blocking that movement; letting go of resistance allows the movement to complete

Now I find myself curious about an analogy to an itch wanting to be scratched, and then realizing I don't know to what extent an itch is stored in the part of the body that's itchy or in the brain's map of it
Given that people with phantom limbs have itches, probably brain

Isn't technically everything stored in the brain? (Or what do you mean by stored?)

i don't see a strong reason to believe this, and at some point we're talking about entities that don't quite have locations in a totally meaningful way; i think lots of stuff is stored at the very least in the rest of the nervous system
