reading the piece or at least the first two paragraphs she does seem to legitimately feel awful about her score which isn't nothing it seems like there are two things in tension 1. some people are more capable than others 2. it is painful to learn others are more capable

One of my pet theories is that IQ and similar tests were invented to prove social scientists were smarter than traditional literary scholars. They became unpopular when physical scientists did even better at them.
