idk i think it just doesn't translate well for twitter, that's p much the standard for academic linguistics, i don't even notice anymore (but i have read whole fucking books in a similar style/downright obnoxious)

it's probably a matter of familiarity, knowing the concepts and how they're articulated. you build that up in a chill pace over the years of undergrad so a read like this is smooth by end humanities are tricky because they use common language terms and little specific jargon

so it's easy to expect it to make sense despite the reader's lack of background (i mean, it *is* possible to infer the meaning and understand it, just takes a lot more effort)

No they do! I just think they could have gotten a better result along (nearly!) every axis with a different method of delivery The jargon is mostly fine; it's the needless convolution I object to
