to actually answer @ProperOpinion's question I bet that smarties are more likely to find things counterintuitive because dumb people like me are able to invent soothing explanations on the fly for just about any upsetting discontinuity in our worldviews

I’m kinda iffy on Malcom Gladwell in general but his book Outliers is relevant to this subject. Having a high IQ (I believe they defined that as 135+) is much less of an indicator of future success than socioeconomic background. And can indicate a high risk individual.
