Suppose a technology existed that let one control the homo/heterosexuality of a person by acting on a fetus in utero. Would you use this technology?

what would prevent an individual modified in this way from later—in pure existential defiance—engaging in homosexual acts or undergoing a gender transition?

Sure, they could do that, but this would remove any developmental component of that inclination

suppose that I have a matchbox, inside of which I say there is a beetle, which I call "inclination" ,

ok I don't wanna rehash the entirety of the Wittgensteinian corpus, but my point can be that "inclination" as you here imagine is far too vague & elusive to be the kind of thing which we can subject to "control" *dismissive finger quoting*

cf. B. Russell's take that for A to "control" B, the knowable state of A needs to predict the state of B. and here I think both A (fetus) & B (adult human with presumable agency) fail the knowability test You'd have to reduce to states of subsystems, etc.
