yes, absolutely, *and* there's still an important concept here we need a word for (open to suggestions). one key thing is that trauma has much less to do with how apparently horrifying an event is than with how helpless you felt during it

If we back up a bit to things like "fear of success vs fear of failure" you might be able to convince me.

Though I don't think you could narrow it down to any specific "type" of "trauma". Some people do risky things & become wildly successful while others do risky things and it totally fucks up their lives.

I think it was fine before about 2010 and then the PTSD discourse happened. People went “oh, this kind of applies to other experiences like being in an abusive relationship!” and now we’re at “oh, this is kind of like how my dad yelled at me when I forgot to walk the dog!”
