its hard not to be cynical but in fact cynicism in these cases is entirely warranted and Correct ultimate recommendation is discernment in cynicism: applied where appropriate, and good will elsewhere good luck developing such wisdom

Not to mention that when an issue is somebody's day job there's incentive to perpetuate the issue, ineffectively address the issue, or expand the scope and definition of the issue, as well as attack anyone who actually might make real progress with regard to that issue.
