its good and virtuous to occasionally find someone who has absolutely no way of repaying you and doing something kind for them humans or animals or plants or art, all are fine this is especially good preparation in case you later find yourself in a position of authority

No no--it's to build the habits of (i) perceiving places where you may be able to use disproportionate power for the good of others without authority; and (ii) learning to use authority in this way competently, feeling out pitfalls and limits along with places of maximum effect
