This Chinese influence on America is tiny in comparison to what liberalization was (allegedly) intended to achieve for China. Despite the overall narrative, no doubt there have been numerous little cases where Western influence has prodded China along in comparably small ways.

important to distinguish between market liberalization, political liberalization, and idk cultural? there was a fair amount of the former (although the state still has its fingers in everything--just compared to baseline) but skeptical of the latter two
