I've spent a decent but not exorbitant amount of time reviewing the "contemporary" sources for his existence and don't find them compelling (unlike Saul of Tarsus) and lowered my opinion of ancient historians as such

Much of ancient history is better founded than Jesus but yes in general I prefer "we dunno, here's what a bunch of people said a hundred years later" to "yes this person existed"

FYI this isn't evidence against Jesus. If you believe revelation is a valid source of truth then this no mark against it, only (in my opinion) against secular forms of evidence.
