Curiosity for monarchists: 1. Who is your model historical King? 2. Who is alive today who you think could live up to this ideal? Be real

I tend to take a dim view of the line of David as well. IIRC G-d is not happy when the people demand a king.
-
That said I do tend to think Solomon would've been somewhat tolerant.

There've been many examples of that, where king conquers a land, wants quiescence & tax tribute, basic laws followed, trade, & sees no upside in interfering w/ their religion. Why upset the apple cart & inspire rebellion? Lib Dem & communism end up being more 'totalizing'.

David not so much. Maybe Solomon, but not that watered down bullshit, gotta be full on Sorcerer Lord Solomon.
-
Of course Sorcerer Lord Solomon, lover of many strange women, did anger God by his tolerant behavior so that God stirred up the Edomites against him. Which is to say I'm not sure his tolerance can be counted as a royal virtue.
