it would be interesting if the result of this was that everyone stopped donating to any politician because they don't wanna end up doxxed some kind of poetic Justice

lol also yes this is the normal quite frequently donating is not about belief it's about influence, for anyone who donates large amounts interesting wonder how much of this is mostly about enforcement against large donors that would be interesting https://twitter.com/JeffJMason/status/1158944545855459329 …

historically it seems like (DC people confirm?) you would donate a lot to both parties, and this was understood to be good business rather than an ideological commitment maybe this breaking down is a serious step toward real political strife, a kind of . . . hmm

like sort of a major step in conflicts when sides (one side?) no longer permit you to be a neutral, right? that seems to signify something big when it happens at this level

The last time something like this happened was after 9/11 but the neocons never had ambitions like this it seems like Wonder if because popular opinion swung so hard and completely it wasn't really necessary to achieve their aims Whereas the culture war has less broad support

Big thing to watch for would be deplatforming of elected national Republican politicians from mainstream news media and social media Kind of a bummer, had thought things had turned a corner but maybe was just a lull Or it could die down for good Idk

The GOP's electorate is slowly coming around to the realization that progressives want to completely crush and ruin them. The left isn't used to being dragged into the mud after years of being in complete control of nearly everything
