Yes on all counts. Also: 1) Radicalism is fungible, and radicalized environments will produce and channel contrarians down predictable lines, like water. 2) Excess of power and distance from power both erode responsibility; the one through arrogance, the other despair.

Although I'm not against the idea that special care should be taken wrt not inflaming sentiment against minorities, I think it's a valid observation that pushing acceptance of everything under the umbrella of "queer" is a means to weaken traditional morality.
