He can be sanctioned by the court for what he does but he can't be stripped of a basic right to being present.

He doesn't have a right to wear black face and he can be punished for that (he is, per article). The punishment, however, CANNOT be absence from his sentencing hearing. I understand why you feel that way, but you're advocating for removal of fundamental rights of a defendant.
