I think one issue is that I'm not sure (m?)any of us are actually trying to solve problems, and perhaps it sounds like you are? I can understand how this would be frustrating for sure

but local problems are born from systematical problems (or, at least, from very wide-spread problems)https://twitter.com/erin_nerung/status/1141242446686371840?s=19 …

it hurts personally, but it comes from a place of widespread uncertainty solving it locally works, but is a solution good enough if it doesn't tackle the problem in its entirety?

Solving problems locally is efficient even in this world. First, concentrating on solving issues locally insulates me from reliance on broken systems. Second, I don't actually have any ability to solve systematic problems and so effort expended toward that end is wasted.

my best effort to solve things locally so far has been what i linked - and it's still just an MO to see systematic problems in an acceptable way. I'm not sure *how* you even go about solving them locally without addressing these. help?

Hm. I'm not sure I entirely understand; you might be trying to solve a different set of global problems that the ones I'm thinking of. What's troubling you in particular? Maybe I can illustrate with a case study.

honestly yeah this is a good first step "Have you tried understanding the problem?" I'm not sure we even have this yet and maybe it's a prerequisite for the rest

I'm having trouble understanding what everyone else is 'trying to solve' (or avoiding trying to solve) as well - from what i gather after re-reading, seems to be related to how the world is an awful place and bad things are happening?

we all seem to have radically different conceptions of The Problem
