16/ I like you guys and I think a lot of you do good things. Even though I know like 2 of you IRL, there are ways in which I feel closer to you than my IRL friends. But I still feel alienated, as if none of you feel confronted with the same issues I am. welp

There is a meta problem of localizing global problems and making them amenable to efficient solution. It remains unsolved for our society as presently constituted.

I mean--most of these problems have theoretical solutions. Pigouvian taxes, that sort of thing. The difficulty lies in engineering--econometrics is just not up to this with the current data and toolset--and more importantly, in political execution.

For me, the problem lies in the philosophy itself. I don't just see rationality as broken, but the entire liberal Enlightenment worldview, which is our entire cultural background, as broken too. And I don't see any good alternatives outside it.

So simultaneously I have the work of building something of my own and that the further down that path I go, the less I see eye to eye with anyone else. I want a few people to come with me.
