im currently a vassal of Tibet to save me from having to fight off nomad hordes until I'm a King at least think the strategy is going to be working my way up to the kingdom of Khotan, and then moving west to form up the Empire of Turanpic.twitter.com/b9pCWc3t9Z
at that point I should be able to steam roll the Caliphate (maybe converting to Christianity to facilitate), moving through Persia and Arabia to take the prize
The early game is the hardest part and I've failed probably half a dozen times so far. The Sheng family starts controlling a single incredibly shitty county in the duchy of Khotan, and the early game maneuver is eating your lord duke from the inside. I managed this, basically.
Short term, I need to get primogeniture so I can develop my demesne without having to (urk) imprison and castrate my large sons to prevent realm fracture. I think I can manage it with this ruler, which is a good thing He's a genius and so are the first two sons
Another major risk: emperor of Tibet revoking titles. I didn't attend to this in a past playthrough, but this time I've got my very good counselor keeping relations up, and I used a favor to marry his daughter to my heir. Fingers crossed.
I currently have six counties in Khotan; I need twelve to create the Kingdom. Obvious next step is to use the Subjugate casus belli (which I just discovered) to forcibly vassalize the Duke of Shule and his subordinates, which gets me to eleven counties.pic.twitter.com/PFqVWvRMN9
well that was easy little touch and go in the first battle but the way was clear after thatpic.twitter.com/gqOfbdbqDy
oh how convenient! one of my vassals has a claim on a free-floating county right next to my territory--also in Khotan should be able to hit the Kingdom in this lifetime! what an honor I had expected this to take a generation, maybe a year or two of gametime has passedpic.twitter.com/miXSEku5Hl
I have created Khotan and the Emperor of Tibet transferred all of the other territories in the Kingdom to me. That . . . was easy! HOWEVER I still need to get to primogeniture and this is a pain in the ass Problem: seven years to go until I have reigned _as king_ for 10 yearspic.twitter.com/ONhrPXUgwd
my plan is to stay alive for as long as possible and pour money into developing my capital which, for a kingdom crown duchy, is pretty damned sparse fingers crossed a lot can happen in seven years
also I'm a lunatic because I read the necronomicon mostly this is fine but it does piss people off and I'm not yet strong enough to abuse others with impunity
happily things are going well! my ruler just died, but his son (and the inheriting grandson!) is a genius; and I should be able to inherit or seize a bunch of provinces to land some relatives. plowing cash back to build my war provinces and tax base while I consolidatepic.twitter.com/246MOkutJp
oh also I apparently I have a magic rock that generates wealth and also is radioactivepic.twitter.com/ZFmhYujrAx
not doing much expanding at the moment because the only path is through the Uyghurs and they are HUGEpic.twitter.com/ADEMQGJaem
just bustling along my merry way organizing my realm when Tibet just split wide open into independence movements didn't jump ship myself but I might in a few years at this ratepic.twitter.com/WDLLDD6OsS
and, dead the glowing death diamond is killing off my rulers at a fairly good clippic.twitter.com/Lg1xw0BMRc
