I find that categorization suspect because it ends up tracking pretty closely to geography, which makes it seem less like "class" and more like rationalization of chauvinistic bias.

less elliptically: any time someone's definition of "class" puts white southerners and urban blacks all in their own classes and not anywhere else, I consider that definition to be bullshit.
