what's more interesting to me is, how can one be Good in such a world hurum I guess this is discussed at length in Job which suddenly strikes me as more salient than Ecclesiastes

Both books do sort of come to the same conclusion though, if I recall correctly The wicked often prosper while the virtuous suffer, often at the expense of those good people What I find is a helpful lens is taking others as almost exogenous and restrict consideration to oneself

What I keep falling back to is: do I want to go to sleep at night as a person who wouldn't help a stranger change their tire It's not really about some material expected value (although I think in spite of it all that's still positive) Just, you know Who do I want to Be
