There is a dangerous lie floating around that white supremacy will only be dismantled “through personal relationships.” I’ve heard this too many times to count, always (without exception) from well-intentioned, super woke white liberal women.

It’s based on the false premise that white people will choose relationships with Brown and Black folks, those they’ve known and loved for years, over whiteness. They won’t, they don’t, they can’t. Their comfort, their power, their entire beings depend on whiteness.
