I wouldn't be pals with thomas jefferson and I can distinguish his brand of slavery that he practiced from that of the egyptians that built the pyramids. the girl made a weak argument but that doesn't excuse robin's mental gymnastics

slavery was only recently overcome in our society and I think a relativistic framework does a great disservice to that achievement, infact I find this entire line of argument dangerous when 30 or some odd million people are slaves today.

should I excuse the modern uzbeki slave holder because they happened to write something I like? I don't think most people would be okay with that and that's Good

I guess I might be Jefferson's pal I just don't like that he had slaves and I feel pretty confident about not couching it behind "well it was part of the times"
