Jeff is asking good questions from the AOC team (yay!) and pushing back, trying to get straight answers. And he's certainly can't write a piece that says "they said XYZ but that's clearly bullshit" even if it is clearly bullshit. If AOC gives a stupid response he has publishe it.

If the AOC team gives a nonsense response & Jeff calls that out, they will jump all over him, label him a liar. But if he doesn't call it out, he risks people like me saying that he's obfuscating the truth. It's a shitty place to be and I don't know how to solve this.

I was thinking that too... this is such a "they are just like Trump in how they know how to manipulate the rules of reporting" except that they aren't getting nearly as much internal pushback

Trump lies daily and has an approval rating higher than any president among his own party (ever? at least in modern times) lol What internal pushback lol

yeah, I meant that there's been a lot of "we can't just print Trump's lies without pointing out that it's a lie" convos among journalists but I'm seeing less of that with AOC Like a chyron that says "AOC says FAQ was doctored (it wasn't)"

Aren't the democrats 10 years out from even seriously passing such a proposal?

Yeah. They have for abortion rights for the past two decades. Plans take a while to come to be. Takes a village, etc.

I'm still kind of waiting to see what these things end up actually being. We can say "economic security" or "federal job guarantee" or "high speed rail" but we (or at least I) need to know more of what the actual plan is. I can't imagine all these things being in 1 bill.
