Never read it. There are a few books that do this to me, though. (Including one I wrote, which probably indicates yet another thing wrong with me.)

The Holocaust survivor scene in “Good Intentions” is the most recent one in my Kindle reading list. D. D. Harriman’s death scene in “The Man Who Sold the Moon” might be the earliest one I remember.
