I don't know. As someone who's pretty ecumenical in his relationships, ideologically speaking, I've still had a relatively low but still memorable degree of conflict for the reasons defined in that thread.

For example, I worked a summer in a factory. One day, I collapsed from heat exhaustion fell backwards and unconscious, hitting my head on a table and fracturing my skull slightly. Nothing serious but I did literally come within a hair’s breadth of serious brain damage or worse.

It's difficult, then, being very neutral and considered when someone talks about how worker's comp and liability and employment regs are broken and need to be curtailed. The trade off was that I could have died or at least have been shouldered with the medical debt.

And I've literally gotten "surely, there has to be an exception" meaning, in that case, there could have been some hypothetical libertarian or prostrat situation where I came out better than what had actually happened. But I doubted it and I doubt that they believed it too.

I was once prosecuted for a crime I didn't commit under some relatively novel laws I'm not sure those laws are a bad idea it's complicated but it's not worth losing a friend imo
