Well I don't want to be a leader because that entails responsibility I don't like and I prefer to live somewhere safe that doesn't require for me to be a protector, but let's test the hypothesis as I keep going to the gym. My bet, worth DOZENS OF DOLLARS,is that I'll keep attaqin

I think he has a point even though the example is silly. Much of the critique of masculinity comes from male feminists, many of them are partly motivated by not feeling able to live up to the ideals. Similar to much of the feminist critique of femininity

I'm more interested in empirically checking myself with gym k thx (No, but seriously, this does not enter the equation for me, but I feel no leadership ambitions is more personality related and the other is just extreme risk aversion)

Sure, but the critique is mostly about changing the ideal. Kimmel is pretty open with this. I've read interviews were he keep mentioning that his disinterest in sports and his shyness made him feel like didn't fit in with the other guys. He says this motivated his scholarship.

But is this a critique of culture or biology? The average biological diffs between m & f just exist, there's nothing good or bad about them. Kimmel and other feminists seem to be trying to morally stigmatize biology, by presenting biology as purely cultural.

They think ideals are purely cultural and want to reshape them so that they themselves become the pinnacle of masculinity

Well but het female attraction to buff sports stars isn't a cultural ideal it's biology

Agree, but people like Kimmel and other masculinities scholars don't understand this

Toxic masculinity = all those male traits that Kimmel will never live up to
