man wouldn't know where to begin for instance i suspect consciousness is not an emergent property of brains but rather a more fundamental/omnipresent feature of reality and our brains/bodies are kinda like antennae tapping into a sea of consciousness this is a tame example

a more 'out there' example would be my fairly strong suspicion that reality is teeming with (non-physical?) beings / entities / intelligences of various sorts, many of which possess levels of understanding/insight/intelligence that utterly dwarf our own

hahah funny you link this bc i had the thought that egregores are an exception & seem to be like the unofficial 'non-physical entity' mascot of postrat yet at the same time the concept seems to be used primarily playfully/metaphorically/aesthetically, not earnestly postulated

I earnestly endorse it. Like--did you write the piece I can't find about how there are higher forms of life than humans?

that's cool to know you earnestly endorse it -- i feel like anytime i've ever seen egregores mentioned on postrat twitter it's always in an almost post-ironic ambiguous way that feels more metaphorical

i'd also accuse 'egregore' &c. of being ironic/metaphorical, i think of it as syncretic in comparison to my beliefs in transhumanly powerful agency in our environment. gods are no less real than matter, 'god' is not primarily a word for abstractions of the collective unconscious.

that said since i think that this agency is actively and purposefully ineffable and misleading there's usually not much to say. implausibly strange things sometimes happen and there seems to be some kind of personality to it sometimes. interpreting beyond that is crazy hard.

probably my main sober experience with the divine is related to inspiration occasionally fantastic ideas appear in a manner I experience as God piping plans directly into my brain there are subtler numinous experiences I have that fit as well but these are less legible

ahhhh yeah great example, i have had similar experiences reminds me of something i wrote earlier today in a fb group thread about this type of stuff there's a way in which you can basically stop doing much planning in life and just wait for God/Tao/etc to reveal the next steppic.twitter.com/1w37bwQbGI
