they make very nice belts that let you bear the weight around your hips. highly recommend one if you train these up (which I also highly recommend!) Getting to the first multi-rep set is the hard part iirc, smooth sailing from there

start slow though; I stopped doing pull-ups for a while in 2014 after my appendectomy and then hurt myself getting back into it
