anyway I bet a lot of childhood is growing these functions for solving problems and some of the thinness or (unreality)? of adulthood comes from having too much efficiency in problem solving

I suggest the book "the strange loop" by Douglas Hofstadter. Its a condensed version of Godel, Escher, Bach one of his longer previous works.
