im not really part of the ingroup you speak of but i think people talking about good and bad things or interestingness will very quickly choke the life out of anything

I might use "good" and "interesting" and "[vivacious]" interchangeably in this context

yeah i meant roughly the same! i just mean to say that trying to (lacking a better way of putting it) 'minmax' for goodness or interestingness of complexity seems to have very negative results !

well maybe not even minmaxing but even being concious of such things and assessing things on that level, w. 'interesting' as a floating abstract thing seems to result in bad things like back when everyone was trying to be 'contarian'

thats totally a possiblity as well not sure if the focus here is innately bad or if it just encourages bad behaviour fr instance if you get points for being meta you get a (imo at least) kinda lame/predictable sense of homour but this could totally be me being nearingroup or w/e

i should add that everything on here seemed absolutely magically interesting when i first saw accounts like yours! so maybe its just a matter of having worked out the rules

Yeah I worry about this too Maybe there was a huge power level gain early and now it's predictable Which . . . is boring?
