well--if you like cycling, that might be a good comparison I think the modal experience is a kind of deep synchronization with one's physical self and pleasure and satisfaction during exercises you know, you're a material creature and built to exert yourself

My experience of cycling is one of relative tranquility; I am extremely neurotic and pretty certain my experience of the gym would be one of crippling shame

common apprehension! mostly people don't talk to each other at the gym and they almost surely won't if you wear ear buds as most folks do the social norm at gyms is that physical condition is unimportant, simply showing up is laudable and bullying is verboten
