“manhood” is a set of behaviors required of men by patriarchy. it is a set of requirements that is interlinked with misogyny and trans/homophobia.

“manhood” necessitates the domination of women; the objectification/dehumanization of women; a total lack of empathy; rejection of community and solidarity; practice of “rugged” individualism; belief that the man’s emotions, no matter how extreme, are ALWAYS rational.

the term “toxic masculinity” is useless. masculinity, or “manhood” as we know it, is inherently toxic. there is NO “manhood” that is NOT misogynistic. there is no “positive” masculinity, just as there is no “positive” whiteness.

“manhood” goes hand in hand with the heterosexual political regime. “manhood” compels men to reinforce the idea that women are worthless without a man; that men are not truly men if they are not in a relationship with a woman they actively dominate and exploit.

men are not our true comrades if they do not actively betray “manhood”. men are not our true comrades if they obscurely support feminism in talk but do not practice it in reality. men are not our true comrades if they threaten violence against women who disagree with them.

similar to how white people must be actively anti-white and actively anti-racist to be true comrades, men must be actively anti-“manhood” and actively materialist feminist to be true comrades. there are no exceptions. this conclusion is not extreme—it is simply the truth.
