It's just a video of a husky being beaten to death by a shovel. I've seen it one too many times, personally. I used to spend a lot of time moderating Internet Communitie (tm) as a kid and the animal and human abuse is insane and depressing.

Honestly, I think they're necessary to break apathy. I'd never seek them out, but it's useful to be able to think to something that's scarred you to influence yourself or update methods of handling different things.
-
For example, pretty much everyone would save a kid from being hurt in a serious way if that kid right in front of them, right? But then you get into comparisons, like "what would be the trade-off level here for me?"
-
And then you see your first bit of extreme child abuse and your perspective is just forever altered. You're suddenly a lot more willing to sacrifice things you thought essential just minutes before.

i guess i just have always jumped into the situation male privilege or anti-privilege or something
-
There are situations where you can't just jump into them. When it's physical and face to face just about everyone will jump into it. No one wants that on their conscious. It's not really privilege, it's just being a normal human being.
